The reigning heavyweight champion Jon Jones expressed his preference for fighting Alex Pereira over Tom Aspinall on multiple occasions after defending his title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. The speculations on his next opponent are rife, and now Mark Coleman has reacted to Jones' stance.
Aspinall won the UFC interim heavyweight title in 2023 by beating Sergei Pavlovich and has since then been calling out Jon Jones for a title unification fight. However, 'Bones' has downplayed Aspinall and vocally preferred Alex Pereira over him.
MMA Uncensored quoted Jon Jones' comments during his UFC 309 post-fight press interaction on their Instagram page. He specifically hinted towards 'Poatan' as his next rival or a possible retirement.

"They offered me that fight before Bruno Silva, the Bruno Silva fight, or maybe it’s the one Sean took and they offered it to us first. I was like, ‘F*ck no. I’m not fighting him on like kind of short notice. I was like, There’s no way. Because not only do I not want to fight him , I’m not doing it on short notice.”
