Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast and revealed the challenges he faced with Facebook's fact-checking program.
In episode #2255 of (JRE), Rogan and Zuckerberg discussed a variety of topics, ranging from UFC to politics.
During the conversation, the Meta CEO reflected on Facebook’s fact-checking program, highlighting its original goal of addressing hoax claims. However, he revealed that the platform's intentions and public perception diverged, with the program becoming predominantly focused on political fact-checking.
Zuckerberg pointed out that a significant part of the issue stemmed from the fact-checking industry itself, which tends to concentrate on political topics. While Facebook's goal was to address extreme false claims, this intention often got misinterpreted.

Zuckerberg explained:
"I think to some degree it's because some of the people whose job is to do fact-checking have focused much of their industry on political fact-checking, so they've kind of veered in that direction. We kept trying to get it back to what we had originally intended, which is not about judging people's opinions but providing a layer to help fact-check the most extreme claims. It was just never accepted by people broadly. I think people just felt like the fact-checkers were too biased.”

Joe Rogan reveals Mark Zuckerberg’s MMA passion and jokes about a potential fight
During an episode of comedian Theo Von's podcast, recorded at Rogan's studio, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan revealed Mark Zuckerberg’s passion for MMA and his involvement in jiu-jitsu.
When asked by Von about Zuckerberg’s potential opponents, Rogan first mentioned Jeff Bezos and then Elon Musk. Rogan humorously claimed he’d bet on Musk, stating:
"He's [Mark Zuckerberg] a big fan of MMA. He loves it. He's training now, he's doing jiu-jitsu. [Rogan was then asked who Zuckerberg could potentially fight]. Bezos? [Jeff] Bezos is a little older. It might be quite cruel to make him fight Bezos, he might f**k Bezos up. I'd put all my money on Elon [Musk]. If you teach Elon martial arts, he'd figure out a way to f**k you up."
