Mark Zuckerberg has remained vocal about his desire to compete in MMA, despite setbacks, most notably a knee injury that seemingly derailed plans for his highly anticipated fight with Elon Musk. During a recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Zuckerberg confirmed his commitment to the sport and intention to compete.
The Meta CEO acknowledged the mental and physical preparation required for a fight, especially with his busy schedule focusing on AI development and other business ventures. Speaking to Rogan about a potential MMA fight, Zuckerberg said:
“I want to… And I think I probably will, but we’ll see. 2025 is going to be a very busy year on the AI side. I think the idea of having a competition, you really need to get into the headspace of ‘I’m going to fight someone this week.' So, I need to figure this out because I don’t know how with everything that’s going on in AI, how I’m going to have like a week or two where I can just get into this like, ‘I’m going to fight someone [mindset]’. It’s good training and I would like to [fight] at some point.”

Mark Zuckerberg defends Meta's content moderation changes on Joe Rogan's podcast
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressed the company's recent pivot in content moderation during a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. He defended the decision to end the independent fact-checker program and adopt a community notes system similar to X, along with increasing the thresholds for automated content filters. Zuckerberg explained these shifts were in line with Meta's commitment to free expression.
He also discussed the pressure Meta faced during past events like the 2016 U.S. election and the COVID-19 pandemic, acknowledging that some of the information censored at the time should not have been dismissed. He said:
“You only start one of these companies if you believe in giving people a voice. The whole point of social media is basically giving people the ability to share what they want. It goes back to our original mission to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.”
