"My preparation has been well. I just feel blessed to be able to travel again and be able to go to Florida and rejoin a team and upgrade my skills and get fight ready for this next bout. So everything has been well. No injuries, knock on wood."

'The Situ-Asian' Martin Nguyen trained at KIll Cliff FC in Florida, USA for his upcoming matchup. Coach Bob Cook was in charge of getting Nguyen prepared for his ONE Fight Night 7 showdown.
Nguyen, a former ONE featherweight and lightweight world champion, explained in an interview with SCMP MMA:
"Obviously, we’ve got a new coach [Bob Cook]. He’s well known around the circuit. Been working a lot with him closely. Just getting me ready for the moment. When my opponent grabs a hold of me, there’s no panic mode. There’s not anything there. It’s just nothing new to what’s happening in the gym."
Nguyen added that he has rounded out an effective counter-wrestling game. He continued:
"We have some new Dagestani wrestlers and fighters. Just that type of pressure style of wrestling and grappling ... Just a lot of high level grapplers and strikers, and pressure-style wrestlers. Just getting me ready."
