Former ONE two-division world champion Martin Nguyen believes that the odds are stacked against John Lineker going into ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.
On February 24, the former bantamweight world champion will face Fabricio Andrade in a rematch with the vacant title on the line. Despite their first meeting ending in a no contest, it was clear who had the better of the fight before it ended in disappointing fashion.
Due to Andrade’s performance at ONE on Prime Video 3, the big questions going into the rematch all fall on the side of John Lineker and whether he can make the right adjustments for the rematch in order to make this a much different fight the second time around.
No stranger to world championship contests, Martin Nguyen sees an uphill battle ahead for the former bantamweight world champion. In an interview with ONE Championship ahead of ONE Fight Night 7, Nguyen said:

“I feel that Lineker will come in with a different game plan. I don't think that he'll give Fabricio a problem at all. But I mean, for Lineker to pull out the victory, he has to really dig deep.”
John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade 2 headlines ONE Fight Night 7, the same card that features the return of Martin Nguyen. The event will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for fans in North America with an active Amazon subscription.
“I'll do whatever it takes to win” - Martin Nguyen relishes underdog role in his career
With his large amount of elite-level experience, Martin Nguyen isn’t fazed by what people think going into his fights.
In his return at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, Nguyen was originally scheduled to face undefeated Russian contender Shamil Gasanov. After Gasanov was forced to pull out of the fight due to an infection caused by an injury in training, he was replaced by Razhab Shaydullaev, another undefeated prospect.
Stepping into the fight on late notice for his ONE Championship debut, Shaydullaev was still seen as a favorite against Nguyen due to his grappling credentials and 9-0 professional record.
Unfortunately for Martin Nguyen, this fight has also fallen through. But, in a bid to keep him on the card, another late notice opponent was found for him in Leonardo Casotti.
Regardless of who he is standing across from inside the circle and how highly they’re rated, Martin Nguyen is unfazed by anything you can throw at him.
In his pre-event interviews ahead of February 24, the former double champion said:
“I've been an underdog my whole life. Life has hit me so hard, so I don't really care. When it comes to the odds and all that in a bout, all I have to worry about is me turning up, me having the right preparation, me having everything set in place for when that bell goes, and it's me versus him, I'll do whatever it takes to win.”
