'The Situ-Asian' Martin Nguyen is sacrificing time with his family as he dedicates himself to a tough training regimen. The Vietnamese-Australian fighter is a former two-division world champion in ONE and will soon be seeking a win inside the circle.
Martin Nguyen will face 'The Cobra' Shamil Gasanov at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. The event will go down on February 24 at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium. All the action will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.
To prepare for this match, Martin Nguyen flew from Australia to the Kill Cliff FC gym in Florida, U.S.A., even being away from his family during Christmas. In an interview with SCMP MMA, the 33-year-old father and fighter explained:
"Life’s been good. Life’s been great, I can’t complain. The family’s been well. I’ve been away from them for the last eight weeks so I can’t wait to see them. I’m just here sacrificing everything I can and putting everything I can into this fight camp, to put on a show for everyone."

Aung La N Sang discusses Martin Nguyen's upcoming fight
To help the Australian-Vietnamese Nguyen prepare for his upcoming fight, the former two-division world champion 'The Burmese Python' Aung La N Sang has been alongside his friend for the entire camp at Kill Cliff FC in Florida, U.S.A.
Speaking to SCMP MMA in an interview, Aung La said:
“Every match he’s taken, nobody knows about these guys but they’re good, man. They’re really good. They’re young and hungry lions. And I still believe Martin’s got what it takes. But this fight is a tough one. Shamil is no joke, you know. He’s somebody to look out for, and it’s gonna be a tough one for him. That’s the life we chose, so let’s go.”
'The Cobra' Shamil Gasanov is a dangerous Dagestani wrestler with a perfect 13-0 record in MMA. The Russian athlete is currently on a three-fight consecutive submission win streak.
Martin Nguyen is 3-3 in his last 6 fights. Most recently, he is coming off a loss against Ilya Freymanov. On February 24, 'The Situ-Asian' will be looking to make all the sacrifices worth it and get back to his winning ways in the ONE circle.
