Martin Nguyen is still banking on his otherworldly knockout power ahead of next fight

Former two-division champion Martin Nguyen is still relying on his immense punching power ahead of a critical upcoming fight at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

Originally scheduled to face Russia's Shamil Gasanov, Nguyen received a short-notice replacement opponent in Razhab Shaydullaev. However, 'The Situ-Asian' won't be fighting Shaydullaev either.

Martin Nguyen will now welcome Brazil's Leonardo Casotti to ONE Championship. The former champ is still planning to bank on his otherworldly power, regardless of who he's fighting, telling reporters in the pre-fight presser:

"I hit hard, man. All I got to do is touch these guys, and they'll know about my power."

Casotti holds a 9-2 record as a pro and is riding a nine-fight winning streak into his promotional debut. Impressively, each of his last three victories came by way of submission in the very first round.

Originally scheduled to compete at ONE Friday Fights 6, Casotti gets called up to the main show with a massive opportunity to make a statement in ONE Championship.

Martin Nguyen claims to be laser-focused training at Kill Cliff FC in South Florida

The 33-year-old faces a do-or-die situation at ONE Fight Night 7, having lost three of his last four bouts. Nguyen wants to get back into title contention and he told ONE that he's laser-focused on securing a win.

He stated:

“Yeah, the beauty of it is I get no distractions over here. I can just focus on training. Eat, sleep, and train, eat, sleep, and train. Just the environment is different, and the coaches' energy is different. Everything is different when you come over here. You know you're going in and you know you're going to get good work every single day. It's not like you're going to come into training.”

Nguyen is a promotional legend who became ONE's first-ever two-division champion earlier in his career. He owns finishes over the likes of Christian Lee, Eduard Folayang, Marat Gafurov, and Kirill Gorobets, amongst others.
