The road to becoming a ONE Championship megastar has its highs and lows, but for featherweight kickboxing star Masaaki Noiri, what he deems to be most important is his response to setbacks.
Hours away from his 155-pound kickboxing matchup with promotional debutant Liu Mengyang at ONE Friday Fights 92 on Friday, Dec. 20, Noiri vowed to notch his first win under the ONE banner via knockout in an interview with the promotion:
"I'm really hungry for the win this time. Of course, I intend to finish him, and I'm not thinking of anything but a KO. Above all, I plan to go for the win, no matter the situation."

The two-division K-1 champion suffered the 12th defeat in his esteemed 49-win career when he fought revered Thai striker Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in his promotional debut at ONE 167 in June.
With renewed motivation, Noiri will look to spoil Liu's arrival in the world's largest martial arts promotion inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Masaaki Noiri takes responsibilty for loss to Sitthichai
Masaaki Noiri always takes accountability for his shortcomings, which he did in a recent interview with ONE when asked about what went wrong against Sitthichai.
The Team Vasileus product shared:
"In my last fight, for better or worse, I was a bit too excited, but this time, [my trainer] says that if I can be my usual self, things will go well."
He also added:
"It was my first time on a stage I'd always dreamed of. Plus, it was at such a big event. And my opponent was a ranked fighter, Sitthichai. My hunger and my eagerness were lacking a bit, and I ended up fighting at my opponent's pace."
