Matt Hamill recently took to social media to send a message to Dana White, responding to Jon Jones' call to overturn his disqualification loss after the 12-6 elbow strike ban was lifted.

The lone loss on Jones' 29-fight MMA record came from a strike that will become legal in November. This follows the recent decision by the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports (ABC) to remove the prohibition on 12-6 elbow strikes from the MMA Unified Rules.

In October 2009, Jones faced Hamill and quickly took control of the fight. However, at 4:14 in the first round, he delivered a series of 12-6 elbow strikes while in full mount, prompting the referee to stop the contest. Jones was immediately disqualified without any warning.

Following the rule change, 'Bones' promptly took to Instagram to appeal to the UFC CEO, urging him to help remove the loss from his record.

Hamill recently took to Instagram to respond to Jones' plea, claiming that White also supports overturning the disqualification. 'The Hammer' further expressed his willingness to rematch his former opponent for the UFC heavyweight title. He wrote:

"Let’s cut this chase… @danawhite - I know you’re desperate to get @jonnybones an undefeated record. I see how you want to profit from that! It's also why you bail him out of all the other things… How about a rematch?! I’ll be happy to fight him for a heavyweight title. If I beat him, I want a UFC belt. Let me know if Stipe Miocic backs out. I’ll take short notice; just remember he already lost to me!"

Dana White puts Jon Jones at the summit of his all-time P4P rankings

At the UFC 303 post-event press conference last month, seasoned MMA journalist Kevin Iole questioned Dana White about his longstanding interest in high-profile super fights. He specifically inquired whether the UFC CEO held the same enthusiasm for a potential heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira.

While White didn't dismiss the possibility of a Jones vs. Pereira fight in the future, he emphasized that he wants to see 'Poatan' defeat a few more light heavyweights before moving up a division. However, White then passionately defended Jones' status as the pound-for-pound greatest of all time, asserting that 'Bones' deserves more respect:

"This is the problem with the conversation that we're having here and why people aren't giving Jon Jones the respect for pound-for-pound. This f**king guy destroyed the best heavyweight in the division. [He] easily made it look like nothing. Jon Jones is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world and the greatest fighter f**king ever. Period. End of story."
