During episode #1895 of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, American political commentator Matt Walsh explained the motive behind making the explorative documentary, What is a Woman.
Walsh stated that he decided to make the film to explore the logic behind the modern gender ideology movement.
The American political commentator elaborated that he wanted to make sense of the story of individuals like Caitlyn Jenner identifying and transitioning to a woman:
"I know what a woman was before, but if now we are including a guy like Bruce [Jenner] then what is a woman now? And so I started asking this question... What is a woman?... Mostly just on Twitter, you know... and none of them [people on the left] would do it... I thought we have to find a way to go out and put this question in front of them, and that's the sort of where the idea for the documentary came from."

The political commentator added that sticking to just asking questions and letting people answer them was the only way to make sense of the issue:
"We also knew that the way this is going to work, if it works at all is if I'm just asking questions, because if it's me going on a tour around the country yelling at people, it would be satisfying for people emotionally, but... it wouldn't prove anything... So we wanted to give gender ideology a chance to hang itself by it's own incoherences, which I think is what happened."

Matt Walsh explains to Joe Rogan his take on early childhood gender transitions
During the same JRE episode, Matt Walsh suggested to Joe Rogan that transgender children were the 'guinea pigs of the modern gender identity movement'.
The American political commentator challenged the logic behind letting kids undergo gender transitions, claiming that there's very few credible long-term studies relating to the mental health of a child post-transition:
"The only reliable long-term study we have on this shows that suicidality is the highest years after transition... The other problem too is that there are a couple of maybe long-term reliable studies, but there aren't that many, because we haven't done this to people on this scale ever before in human history, so the current crop of... trans kids, they are the guinea pigs... We are experimenting on them."
