Max Holloway recently weighed in on Ryan Garcia's incredible victory over Devin Haney, where the Hawaiian pointed out the hefty price paid by Garcia for missing weight by over three pounds.
'KingRy' was scheduled to challenge Haney for his WBC super lightweight title on April 20th. But after missing weight, the bout was moved to a non-title clash.
During the final pre-fight press conference, the pair of pugilists shook hands on a bet that if either man missed the 140-pound weight limit, they would be fined $500,000 per pound.
According to the WBC champion, 'KingRy' did follow through on their agreement. However, according to 'Blessed' the weight miss actually cost Garcia over $2 million.

Following Holloway's epic KO victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300, he appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, where he discussed Haney vs. Garcia, saying this:
"He paid $2.1 million in fees... He paid $1.5 million to Haney, 'cause he said $500,00 for every pound. He had to pay the ectra $600,000 or $500,000 to the commission. So it was like $2.1 million."

Max Holloway praises Ryan Garcia's "acting" skills
Ryan Garcia stunned the combat sports world when he defeated Devin Haney via majority decision to hand the WBC super lightweight champion the first loss of his professional career.
Once the fight was officially announced in February, 'KingRy' began displaying some concerning behavior both online and during several pre-fight press conferences. Garcia claimed to have been kidnapped and forced to watch minors be sexually assaulted, and also discussed his use of alcohol and cannabis.
His antics saw him marked as a +500 underdog by some sportsbooks, and few expected him to provide the always-professional Haney with a test. However, 'KingRy' asserted himself from the opening bell, hurting his opponent in Round 1 en route to victory.
Following the bout, he stated that aside from drinking alcohol during fight camp, Garcia had been faking his wild behavior in the hopes of fooling the public and his opponent.
During Max Holloway's recent appearance on the JRE, he praised the boxer, saying this:
"I was like, wow. This guy should be an actor... Act like he was crazy, come in three pounds heavy. He sold it all the way to him getting in [to the ring]... Jokes on you, brother. He laughed straight to the bank." [1:23:45-1:24:40 in Max Holloway's aforementioned interview]
