Ahead of UFC 307, Max Holloway took part in an interview with KHO News, during which he touched on the topic of U.S. gun violence. As 'Blessed' told the news station, if two parties find themselves in the midst of a disagreement, they ought to settle their differences without resorting to firearms.
Instead, Holloway encouraged disagreeing parties to hash out their issues in a controlled environment like a boxing gym. He even suggested street fights as an alternative, which, while not ideal, are still better than fatally shooting someone.
"Put the guns down boys and all. Just put them down. You guys got a problem, do it the old-school way and go to a boxing gym, put some gloves on and punch each other, then shake hands. Remember, when we was growing up, street fights, wouldn't say do it, but shooting someone is something different."
Holloway also suggested taking up boxing at a gym or exercising or playing competitive video games as healthier outlets for whatever issues lead to gun violence.

"Stop violence. Go to the gym, go lift weights. Throw weight, play video games. They want to shoot somebody, go play Apex [Legends] or Call of Duty or something like that. Keep the violence off the streets."

Max Holloway's opinion about guns isn't popular among UFC fighters
While Max Holloway is doing his best to turn the current and next generation away from firearm possession, many of his UFC roster-mates support current U.S. gun laws. Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland is an avid firearms enthusiast, as is reigning heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones.
Another pro-gun enthusiast is fellow featherweight Bryce Mitchell, who has expressed various conspiracy theories relating to U.S. gun legislation. Thus, Holloway is on something of an island with his take on guns regarding his fellow fighters.
