Despite her competing in another closely contested match at ONE Fight Night 26, Mayssa Bastos didn't lose confidence.
The multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion always finds a way and that was the case once again on Dec. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Bastos earned her second win under the ONE Championship banner in August at ONE Fight Night 24, where she defeated Danielle Kelly to win the ONE atomweight submission grappling world championship.
The stage was set for their rematch at ONE Fight Night 26 inside the Thai capital city where once again, the pair were able to counter a lot of their opponent's offense.

However, Bastos was able to pull in front again by scoring a late catch to defend her 26 pounds of gold. The Brazilian showed her composure to produce a fight-changing adjustment as the 10-minute duration ticked down.
During her in-ring interview with Mitch Chilson after getting her hand raised, Mayssa Bastos gave her thoughts on the rematch.
She claimed that though Kelly put up a good fight, she felt like she was making the right steps throughout the contest:
"I felt very confident when I started getting the positions and when I passed that guard. I don't remember anymore, but yes, at the end, when I did the catch."
Mayssa Bastos produced the decisive moment when it mattered most
Mayssa Bastos has accomplished so much in her career so it's not unexpected to see her hold ONE Championship gold.
The Brazilian competitor is so experienced at the highest level and it showed at ONE Fight Night 26.
Rather than waiting for the contest to hit the time limit so that she didn't risk giving the bout away, Bastos knew what she needed to do in order to put a stamp on her performance.
Scoring the catch in the final seconds left no doubt that Bastos is the promotion's deserving atomweight world champion.
