Fans were impressed with how Alex Pereira handled his knockout loss. After defeating Adesanya three times in kickboxing and MMA, Pereira ended up on the wrong side of a vicious KO against his archrival and lost the UFC middleweight title. However, unseen footage shows it did not damage the Brazilian's resolve and fighting spirit.

A video posted by Spinnin Backfist on X shows the locker room footage of Pereira reflecting on the loss immediately after the fight. Fresh off the loss, 'Poatan' showed incredible clarity of thought and lifted the spirit of his family and teammates:

"In the past, I was worried like, 'Holy f*! I'm f*ed. I've gotta pay some bills and other stuff.' But nowadays, thanks to God and my managers, I'm financially well. So it was just another fight."

He added:

"I already left other teams and families sad like my sons are right now, all of the team. But that's it. It was like one day I said to my father when I lost in 2012. After my first loss as a professional fighter, my father got sick. So I said to him, 'Father, how many times have I left other families and teams sad and we were laughing? Now is our time to rethink.' So, dude, I'm okay with it right now."

After the loss, Pereira moved up to the light heavyweight division and captured the divisional title in November 2023. In his last outing at UFC 300, he knocked out Jamahal Hill via KO to secure the first defense of the title after an intense build-up. Hill recently criticized Pereira's post-fight celebration in a social media post, and was criticized for the same.

Fans compared Hill and Pereira's reactions in the comments section:

"Meanwhile Hill is taking is KO loss like a child and making up excuses. Pereira is a legend, Hill is a fluky champ," @ANTONIOEESPARZA commented.
"Poatan takes a Loss like a real man unlike Twitter fingers jamahal hill," @CeeRBF1 commented.

Most of the fans were thoroughly impressed with Pereira's comments and wrote:

"One of the realest in this sport, if there is one thing I can thank Izzy for? it's bringing this man to the UFC," @swantvn commented.
"Basically acknowledging the game is the game. You love to see it," @daerBemaG commented.
"Is hard not to like a guy and champion like poatan!" @Memo22772512644 commented.
"1000% in the conversation for the greatest combat athlete ever," @YumHead wrote.

Alex Pereira responds to Jamahal Hill's comments on UFC 300 loss and post-fight celebration

Alex Pereira had taken a stinging jab at Jamahal Hill in the comments section of the post. While speaking to Fox Sports Australia in a recent interview, 'Poatan' shared his thoughts on Hill and said:

"To be honest, I don't get why he's doing this so late. It's been almost two months. People usually do that right away, but maybe he just woke up from the knockout." [Translated by Plinio Cruz]
