Ahead of his title fight, Dvalishvili became candid about his early days, when he almost quit MMA to lead a normal life by marrying a Georgian woman. The 33-year-old, who was featured in the most recent episode of '7 Days Out' on Anatomy of a Fighter, stated:

''I was thinking no I should just maybe, I have a lot of fights in Georgia. She wasn't my type, she was somewhere else and and I tried go club with my friends restaurants. I did all that fun but I wasn't happy.''
