UFC bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili recently met up with Conor McGregor and shared his opinion on the Irishman's attitude.

In the build-up to his fight against Petr Yan, Merab Dvalishvili bumped into the former two-division champion at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada. Speaking about meeting arguably the biggest star the world of MMA has ever seen, Dvalishvili said this at a post-fight press conference:

"I was so happy to see him because I always wanted to tell him thank you, whatever he did for the sport, you know? He is charasmatic and is such a humble [human being]."

Further in the press conference, Dvalishvili compared Conor McGregor to Petr Yan and suggested that McGregor is humbler than his most recent opponent. He said:

"He is such a nice person, he came and took a picture with me and Aljo and he was nice to us...this is like I met so many famous fighters, champions and they are all humble. That's how good people they are and then Petr. I met Petr four years ago and he was looking just like a bully."

Merab Dvalishvili refuses to call out Aljamain Sterling for the UFC bantamweight championship

'The Machine' secured the biggest win of his career this past weekend by beating former UFC bantamweight champion, Petr Yan. It was a dominant performance from Dvalishvili as he won all five rounds against the Russian.

With this type of performance against the former champion, Merab Dvalishvili has certainly put himself in title contention. However, 'The Machine' has made it known that he will fight for the bantamweight title only when the current champion, Aljamain Sterling, decides to move up in the weight class.

It is worth noting that Dvalishvili and Sterling are teammates and share a very close friendship. This tends to be the reason why 'The Machine' has refused to fight the UFC bantamweight champion.

During a post-fight interview, Merab Dvalishvili said:

"Aljo was telling me now, 'Call the belt.' Hey man, he's my brother and he's a real champion. Only me and him knows who's real champion... But whenever he decides [to] go up in weight class... then after, I will fight [for the] title. Of course, I want to be champion and now I prove again... and I'm hungry."
