Merab Dvalishvili turns heads with his hilarious jab at Umar Nurmagomedov’s jacuzzi denial

Merab Dvalishvili recently opened up about his heated press conference exchange with Umar Nurmagomedov, which saw him take a jibe at the Dagestani with a clever reference to his team. They took part in a special UFC 311 press conference last week as the promotion began building anticipation for their first pay-per-view of 2025.

There is no love lost between the two bantamweights as they had to be separated by security backstage before the press conference and argued throughout. The reigning bantamweight champion took offense to 'Young Eagle' blasting him on social media by saying he was afraid to fight him and fired back by saying the UFC only granted him a title shot because of his last name.

During his latest appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, 'The Machine' brought up the final exchange when he trolled 'Young Eagle' by referencing the jacuzzi photo of his teammates. Dvalishvili mentioned that Nurmagomedov took offense and denied being present but the Georgian noted that he was likely unable to because he was taking the photo:

"[Nurmagomedov and Makhachev] grow up together maybe, more than 20 years, they know each other and when journalist ask him, 'What's your best memory together?' And they're like, they don't have memories...And I'm thinking in my head, how you don't have any good memories together. Even positive like, you guys all take shower in little jacuzzi...But Umar said he wasn't there. Maybe he was taking the picture".

Merab Dvalishvili says UFC 311 bout halted his birthday plans

In addition to discussing Umar Nurmagomedov's jacuzzi denial from their heated press conference, Merab Dvalishvili noted that accepting the co-main event bout at UFC 311 halted his birthday plans. The event takes place on Jan.18, which means that 'The Machine' will be in the final stretch of his training camp on his birthday.

During the aforementioned appearance, Dvalishvili mentioned that he was planning to celebrate in his native Georgia, but the promotion wanted both Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev to compete on the same card:

"January 10th is my birthday and I was going to celebrate for the first time ever. I was going to [Georgia] and...Basically, UFC needed me in January because they need Umar to fight with Islam and I step up. I'm a company man and I [went] to office and said, 'Okay...We can fight'."
