MF & DAZN X Series 17: Danny Simpson vs. Danny Aarons: Full results

Misfits Boxing returned on Aug. 31 with its 17th fight card on DAZN, headlined by YouTuber Danny Aarons and former professional football player Danny Simpson. The event was the promotion's second of August following MF & DAZN X Series 16 on Aug. 10.

Both Aarons and Simpson were making their boxing debuts. The fight commenced as a professional bout, marking both fighters' professional debut.

The co-main event also carried significant name value with MMA veteran Anthony 'Pretty Boy' Taylor returning to the ring against Gabriel Silva, the son of former UFC champion Anderson Silva. Both fighters entered the matchup on three-fight win streaks with momentum behind them. Silva also had a history with the event play-by-play broadcaster Ben Davis, whom he beat in his Misfits Boxing debut in 2023.

Aarons and Simpson ended the night on a high note with a bloody four-round brawl that saw neither man get the nod and instead end in an anticlimactic split draw. However, on a Saturday night without the UFC, MF & DAZN X Series 17 delivered for combat sports fans with five knockouts from its eight fights.

The two fighters who entered the night with Misfits Boxing belts also retained them, with Anthony Taylor and Nurideen 'Deen the Great' Shabazz defending their respective titles.
