UFC commentator and analyst Michael Bisping recently shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated rematch between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan. He highlighted a key factor that could alter the course of the fight.
Makhachev is set to defend his lightweight title against Tsarukyan in the main event of UFC 311. This marks their second clash, following their first encounter in 2019. In that back-and-forth battle, Makhachev secured a unanimous decision victory. However, many fans and pundits considered it one of the toughest challenges of the Dagestani fighter’s career.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Bisping shared his thoughts on the main event of UFC 311, emphasizing that Tsarukyan’s temperament could play a key role in the fight. Bisping referenced Tsarukyan's altercation with a fan at UFC 300, suggesting the challenger's inability to control his emotions during high-stakes moments might be a factor. He stated:
“The one thing that is slightly concerning me for Arman Tsarukyan is the mindset. The last time he walked out, he punched someone in the crowd... that tells me about your temperament and your ability to handle emotions in these big, big fights and that can be a game changer.”

Aljamain Sterling shares his prediction on Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan
Former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling shared his prediction for the matchup between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan in an Instagram post. Sterling backed the Armenian fighter to get the job done, asserting that Tsarukyan has better striking than the Dagestani champion. He said:
"So I think Islam is the guy right now but I also think Arman is just as good as Islam and I think the first fight showed that. The guy can wrestle his a** off, he has a pretty solid gas tank, and I think his striking overall is cleaner than Islam. Islam's got more of an awkward striking. It's effective, it does good damage."
He continued:
"He has dropped guys before, put them out. But I will say, from a technical standpoint and like in terms of the principle look and feel for striking, I think Islam is just a little below Arman. All respect to Islam but I do feel there's going to be a passing of the torch on Jan. 18 for the main event."
