Michael Bisping recently opened up on wanting to transition into coaching and explained why he hasn't committed to it yet. The former UFC middleweight champion has shared his knowledge with several up-and-coming fighters but noted that being an active coach requires more dedication.

The Hall of Famer was one of the most successful fighters to come out of the UK and burst onto the scene after winning season 3 of 'The Ultimate Fighter'. Since retiring in 2018, Bisping has made a seamless transition to media, where he can be seen on UFC broadcasts and his own podcast.

During his appearance on the latest episode of Show Me The Money, 'The Count' told UFC welterweight competitor Gilbert Burns that he is interested in becoming a coach in the future.

However, Bisping mentioned that it requires a full-time commitment and that he would have to put his pupils' needs above his own, which could take time away from his family. He said:

"I'm looking forward to that time in my life. But as you know, Gilbert, if you're gonna be a coach, you gotta be selfless...You gotta dedicate yourself to those people because I know what it's like when you're going through it. You're dedicating your entire life to this mission of being a fighter and right now I don't have the time. Right now, my priority is still my wife and my children and giving them the best life possible." [54:32 - 54:55]

Michael Bisping discloses why he wants to become a coach

In addition to explaining why coaching isn't in his immediate future, Michael Bisping discloses why he wants to coach in the future.

During the aforementioned episode, Bisping mentioned that he wants to continue taking advantage of the opportunities he has been given and outlined when he envisions on committing himself to coaching:

"Coaching is a passion and something that I want to do cause I feel that I have a lot of experience that I can hand down to next generations and take some fighters under my wing and mentor them and try to help them along the path...it's just not the right time yet. When I'm in my 50s maybe I'll get into that but right now, I'm too busy, I got too many opportunities and as they say, 'Make hay while the sun shines.'" [54:56 - 55:20]
