Roman Kopylov and Chris Curtis squared off against each other in a three-round bout on the main card of UFC Vegas 101. Kopylov won the bout via TKO in the final seconds of the last round.
UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping has now given his views on the aforementioned bout and the controversial decision.
The conclusion of Curtis vs. Kopylov was controversial. After the 33-year-old Russian head-kicked and dropped Curtis in the final seconds of round three, referee Mark Smith stepped in to stop the bout.
The 37-year-old American was not happy with the stoppage as even though he hit the canvas, he was not unconscious. Before the stoppage, the judges scored the bout 19-19. 'Action-Man' protested against the stoppage and referee Smith has received backlash online for the same.

Bisping was asked by a fan on X his views on the aforementioned bout, and the controversial stoppage.
A user asked:
"What did you make of the curtis kopylov ending?"
The UFC Hall of Famer replied:
"I don’t know. Not the refs job to know the time on the clock and I think he was trying to protect him from further damage. Imagine if there was 2 minutes left. I feel for Chris."
He also added:
"Don’t know. Tough one. I can see both sides. The time left should be irrelevant to the ref but I also feel for Chris.great fight though."

Roman Kopylov addresses the controversial ending against Chris Curtis
The referee's decision to end the fight angered Chris Curtis, who was visibly upset post-stoppage at UFC Vegas 101.
Meanwhile, Roman Kopylov, who thinks “everything was correct,” had this to say during the post-fight interview:
"I think everything was correct, everything was by the rules. I did not want to finish him because I didn’t want to hurt him, he’s a family man… So I wanted to make sure he can come back and feed his family. So it's all about sportsmanship and it's my right leg that feeds me. ”
