Former UFC title contender Michael Chandler seems keen on Conor McGregor's return. 'The Notorious One' and Chandler are slated to lock horns later this year. However, a date and venue for the fight is yet to be announced.

Conor McGregor has been out of action since July 2021 after suffering a horrific leg injury in his trilogy against Dustin Poirier. However, after a hiatus of over a year, it was announced earlier this year that 'The Notorious One' will return as a coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) against Michael Chandler, with the two slated to fight following the end of the season.

With the highly anticipated Michael Chandler vs. Conor McGregor bout still months away from happening, 'Iron' recently took to Twitter to reveal his urge to step back into the octagon. While suggesting that he can't wait to beat McGregor "within an inch of his career". Chandler said:

"These big fight nights always make me want to fight so bad. Can’t wait to go out there and beat @TheNotoriousMMA within an inch of his career. #ufc287"

Conor McGregor's return: Michael Bisping picks Michael Chandler to beat 'The Notorious One'

Former UFC champion Michael Bisping has given his thoughts on the highly anticipated McGregor vs. Chandler. Interestingly, Bisping picked 'Iron' to beat 'The Notorious' upon his return to the UFC.

During an interview with James Lynch, Michael Bisping suggested that McGregor's recent performances aren't as impressive as they used to be. While claiming that the Irishman's inactivity could benefit Michael Chandler, the former UFC middleweight champion said:

"Chandler -- Just simply inactivity from Conor. The performances [by McGregor] haven't been what they used to be. He broke his leg last time out. He's enjoying the fruits of his labor, and rightly so. He's achieved wild success. So, why shouldn't he enjoy that? But that isn't always conducive to a great fighting career."

Further in the video, Michael Bisping suggested that Conor McGregor shouldn't be completely counted out because of the power he possesses. He added:

"Now, Michael Chandler is an athlete first. I mean, he's training every single bloody day. So yeah, I'm gonna give him the edge. But you can never discount Conor. The man can crack, and Chandler does get hit."
