Michael Johnson strongly criticized Jamahal Hill’s behavior for his confrontation with Alex Pereira at the UFC Performance Institute, calling it unnecessary and ill-prepared. Hill approached Pereira during a training session, seemingly intent on escalating their ongoing rivalry. However, when challenged to put on the gloves, Hill refused, clarifying later that he wouldn’t engage in a fight without being paid.
Johnson was unimpressed with Hill’s approach, dismissing it as performative rather than authentic. He emphasized that as a fighter, one should always be ready to act if stepping into such a situation. Hill’s decision to initiate the encounter without the intent to follow through, according to Johnson, came across as a missed opportunity to assert himself.
Speaking about the incident in a recent episode of the Overdogs Podcast with Mike Perry, Johnson said:
"That's some clown sh*t. I'mma be honest... Why even go there and say anything when you're not prepared to do anything?"

Johnson added:
"It made no sense... Are you walking over there to fight him? If you would have walked over there and been cool with him then it wouldn't have been no problem. But now he's trying to get views or trying to act a certain way by going over here and jumping in his face. He's lucky didn't have a mindset like somebody like me or you [Mike Perry] because honestly he should have got hit. Like why you coming over here like talking and talking sh*t?"

Robert Whittaker previews potential clash between Alex Pereira and Khamzat Chimaev
Robert Whittaker recently analyzed a hypothetical fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Pereira, expressing confidence in Chimaev’s ability to win but acknowledging potential risks. Chimaev’s wrestling dominance and recent win over Whittaker at UFC 308 highlight his ability to dictate fights. Pereira, however, stands out as a versatile and relentless striker, with three title defenses to his name.
Whittaker emphasized that Chimaev’s grappling advantage could secure victory, provided he maintains his pace and endurance. A lapse in cardio, however, could shift the dynamic entirely. Speaking about the fight in an episode of the MMArcade podcast, Whittaker said:
“Chimaev [would win], easily. Not easily, [but] Chimaev though [is my pick]. I don’t know, unless the [light] heavyweight strength change is a dynamic that Chimaev can’t take [him down]... Chimaev will get the takedown... But, let’s say hypothetically, [if] Chimaev slows down, gasses a little bit, Pereira won’t. He can strike asleep, dead tired. He’s been doing it his whole life. He’ll kill Chimaev in the standup. It won’t be like the Usman-Chimaev fight where Usman was kind of out-boxing him a little bit at that period when Chimaev got tired. It’ll be a slaughter [if he does that with Pereira].”
