MMA fighters Mike Jackson and Jake Shields recently clashed at the UFC's Performance Institute. While all of the facts are still unknown, it's common knowledge that Jackson and Shields had some 'beef'.
However, the 37-year-old UFC fighter recently opened up about his side of the story about the altercation at UFC PI. While speaking with MMA Junkie, Jackson stated that Shields was hurling abuse at him in the lead-up to the physical clash:
"So, I'm looking at Jake [Shields] and he's like, 'Ah it's this piece of s**t racist Mike Jackson.' Now, the majority of everything he says, because I'm not gonna keep repeating what he said, the summation of everything he said from the time he walked up to the time I left, all he did was say, 'Mike Jackson you're a piece of s**t racist, fight me.'"

'The Truth' claims that he was uninterested in a verbal battle against Jake Shields and just wanted to finish working out at the UFC's facility. However, Jackson went on to say that Shields spat on him after the verbal barrage, which eventually led to the altercation.
Shields has also been vocal about the scrap, with the fighter posting a video on Twitter showing Jackson on the ground. The former UFC fighter also had some strong words for his fellow fighter:
"Finally ran into the b***h Mike Jackson. He quickly discovered the difference between calling people Nazis In Person vs. on Twitter. This racist is lucky, so many people were there to save his pathetic racist ass."
Did Mike Jackson beat CM Punk at UFC 225?
Jackson hasn't had many high-profile bouts since joining the UFC in 2016. However, his most famous fight came against CM Punk at UFC 225: Whittaker vs. Romero 2.
'The Truth' managed to get the win in what was a pretty underwhelming performance from both fighters at the pay-per-view event.
However, the result was changed to a no-contest in 2021 after Jackson tested positive for marijuana, meaning the unanimous decision loss would no longer count on Punk's professional record.
Watch Dana White speak about the bout here:
Despite Jackson's UFC career looking in danger after navigating past CM Punk, the American has managed to fight two more times in the organization.
'The Truth' beat Dean Barry in the very first round when Barry inflicted an illegal eye gouge on him and was subsequently disqualified. Jackson lost his latest outing against Pete Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Araujo via knockout.
