Mike Perry has largely stayed out of trouble over the last couple of years but he recently hit a bump in the road with law enforcement again. This arrest involved a pair of charges and the incident transpired on Oct. 12. It took place in Florida with the Clermont Police Department overseeing the situation.

Perry was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to sign a citation, requiring a court appearance. According to the online records of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, 'Platinum' was taken to jail a few hours after being pulled over and was released around five hours on a USD 1500 bail.

A police report obtained by MMA Fighting stated that the King of Violence was going 20 miles an hour over the speed limit with the officer noticing the former UFC veteran's speech was slow.

The BKFC combatant is scheduled to appear in court, as referenced above, with Perry being due in court on the morning of Oct. 30.

Mike Perry's recent efforts and the road ahead

Mike Perry has had a fairly up-and-down year both inside and outside of the ring. He headlined BKFC's big tentpole event KnuckleMania IV and defended his King of Violence belt with an emphatic stoppage victory over former UFC welterweight title challenger and former BKFC champion Thiago Alves.

Perry would then make a return to the world of gloved boxing after many years and took on arguably the most polarizing pugilist in the world today. Perry collided with former sparring partner Jake Paul with both men aiming to settle a feud that was rooted in vastly different accounts of their sparring session before Paul's boxing bout against Ben Askren in April 2021.

The 33-year-old would fall short of 'The Problem Child' with Perry going 0-2 in the world of gloved boxing toward the end of July. The Michigan native is expanding into the realm of fight promotion, as was mentioned above, with the inaugural card for the Dirty Boxing Championship set for Nov. 23.

There were some rumblings about Perry returning to BKFC for a big show in December. But it seems like the recent arrest news has caused a bit of an amendment to that timeline with early 2025 now being the focus upon return to gloveless combat.
