It appears Mike Perry will have to take home a smaller purse for the BKFC's $25 million tournament. BKFC frontman Dave Feldman recently revealed that the tournament has secured funding and will involve four major tryouts and qualifying rounds over ten events.
While the final winner of this tournament will take home $15 million, Feldman stated that one of the promotion's biggest stars will have to bear with a purse reduction in the opening rounds of the competition. During an interview with Ariel Helwani, he was asked about Perry's potential involvement, to which he replied:
"I mean, look, it would be a price reduction for him. A purse reduction for him to fight in the opening rounds, so he's going to have to risk that... [On Perry's risk potentially paying off at the end] It'll really pay off."

Intriguingly, Perry and BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor also got into a verbal war on social media a few months ago. McGregor announced Perry's removal from the roster soon after 'Platinum' lost to Jake Paul in a boxing match. In an X post, McGregor wrote:
Hey Mike, you're released and you can go compete in your smelly Dirty Boxing Championship thing, the smell of it. Good luck. You're fired. @bareknucklefc"
Mike Perry on facing fight booking issues after social media war with Conor McGregor
Mike Perry recently opened up about his next fight booking and expressed displeasure at BKFC delaying him. Perry also wondered if Conor McGregor firing him in a social media post had anything to do with it.
In an episode of the Overdogs Podcast, Perry discussed his combat sports promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship, and whether that caused friction with BKFC brass. Addressing the delays in booking his next fight, he said:
''I'm just like fine, sure like offer me somebody, tell me what's going on, tell me something. I guess Conor really did fire me, what the f*ck, where's my fight at?... [David] Feldman wished me luck, he wished us luck. He said, 'Hey, I hope it goes well'. I don't think they are threatened by us... I think they're just trying to find the right thing that they can't seem to quite make happen because they don't want to be the guy fighting me with no gloves on after I f**king lost that last fight with the gloves on. I'm f**king pissed and I want this sh*t.''
