Mike Perry responds to Jake Paul's respectful statement after boxing match: "I don't know why he gets a bad rep"

Mike Perry recently expressed his thoughts on Jake Paul's considerate remarks made after their boxing bout. Perry then responded in a kind manner, calling Paul one of the top fighters in the country right now.

Paul credited Perry for his toughness during their fight this past Saturday, which resulted in a sixth-round TKO victory for 'The Problem Child'. The former UFC fighter appeared much smaller than the YouTuber-turned-boxer, and there was a significant disparity in power as well. Despite getting dropped multiple times, 'Platinum' kept coming forward before eventually getting finished.

'The Problem Child' took to X, praising the BKFC star's toughness and expressing admiration for how he handled the loss. Paul stated that Perry is a legend in combat sports, writing:

''Mike Perry’s heart is undeniable and he’s a combat legend. He has dominated countless opponents with his fists, including ufc champion Luke Rockhold, who is the same size I am. He lost because I was better than he thought I was was going to be. But respect to him for acknowledging my skills and handling the loss with class. I know he’s going to continue to rise in combat sports and be a star for years to come.''

Perry replied by supporting Paul in reaction to the criticism he receives for his boxing contests, writing:

''Nice guy, I don’t know why he gets a bad rep. We sold out an arena because we were two of the best American boxers/fighters who are actually competing.''

Regarding their future, Perry is expected to return to the BKFC cage, where he has secured three TKOs and is undefeated at 5-0. Meanwhile, Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in a boxing match on Nov. 15.

During the lead-up to their bout, Jake Paul and Mike Perry traded verbal barbs and engaged in a boxing match. Keeping all of that in mind, Paul discussed his relationship with Perry in a recent episode of BS W/ Jake Paul podcast, saying:

"It was hard to talk sh** to him the whole week because I thought he was hilarious. But we're selling the fight and hyping it up. Everyone in the comments was saying, 'I think Jake and Mike are going to be lifelong friends' and I think it could happen."
