As Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury prepare to clash again on Dec. 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, boxing legend Mike Tyson has shared his advice for the British heavyweight. Reflecting on Fury’s split-decision loss to Usyk in May, Tyson criticized 'The Gypsy King's' approach, suggesting it lacked focus.
Tyson told Fox Sports Radio:
“Tyson Fury could have won that [first] fight if he wasn’t playing around.”
He urged Fury to take the rematch seriously, adding:

“I want him to [win]. I want him to be serious enough.”

The rematch will see Usyk defend his WBA, WBC, and WBO heavyweight titles. The Ukrainian made history with his victory earlier this year, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999 and handing Fury his first professional defeat.
Since then, Usyk vacated his IBF title, now held by Daniel Dubois after his knockout win over Anthony Joshua in September.
Oleksandr Usyk believes he will "knock out" Tyson Fury in their rematch
Oleksandr Usyk has vowed to take a more aggressive approach against Tyson Fury in their highly anticipated rematch on Saturday night, claiming he won’t show Fury the same leniency he did toward Anthony Joshua.
Usyk, known for his sportsmanship and respect for opponents, notably eased off on Joshua during their first encounter in 2021.
Despite hurting AJ in the final round and being comfortably ahead on the scorecards, Usyk opted not to finish the job, maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor. His promoter, Alex Krassyuk, explained that Usyk’s philosophy is to win without causing unnecessary harm.
However, Usyk’s mindset ahead of his clash with Fury is different. The Ukrainian boxer told Mail Sport:
"Against Fury, it wasn't me who decided this - it was the heavenly virtues who decided this was the way I would win [decision not KO]. But, if I have an opportunity to knock out Tyson Fury in the rematch, I will take it."
