ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci is a key part of ONE Championship’s plan to dominate the submission grappling realm.
As one of the biggest stars in the promotion’s roster, ‘Darth Rigatoni’ is helping to put grappling on the map by producing some of the most ruthless and aggressive performances ever seen inside the ONE Circle.
But with an option to have a go at several other disciplines – MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing – at an organization like ONE, the decorated submission specialist has chimed in on the possibility of adding some striking weaponry into his craft so that he can compete in MMA in the future.
He certainly isn’t the first grappler to make these intentions clear, with fellow submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo sharing a similar ambition.

And the pasta aficionado believes he’s got the right man to help him with that transition – ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
The pair shared the stage together at the recently concluded ONE Fight Night 10, and Mikey Musumeci suggested in a recent interview that they may soon share the mats and the bags to exchange knowledge and experience.
He told the Jiu-Jitsu Times:
“One hundred percent, I’d help him out. And he’s gonna help me with Muay Thai if I decide to do MMA as well. We’re a hundred percent collaborating.”
With both men being absolute specialists in their own craft, this friendship will definitely be a win-win situation for both parties.
