Mikey Musumeci talks about what ONE Championship stands for

Reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion ‘Darth Rigatoni’ Mikey Musumeci has been a major proponent of what ONE Championship is doing for martial arts globally since he joined the promotion in 2022.

He's been able to experience firsthand how ONE is changing the game and bringing many different cultures together under the spirit of competition whilst living part-time in Singapore and competing across Asia. The 26-year-old has a fundamental understanding of what ONE is set out to accomplish.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Musumeci explained exactly how the organization is able to promote a sense of unity among not only its staff, but also its athletes.

‘Darth Rigatoni’ said:

“That’s what ONE Championship stands for, and that’s what Singapore stands for. Singapore connects all the different cultures together. And it does a very good job at it. I feel like that’s what we’re doing with ONE Championship.”

Musumeci says he’s glad to be a part of ONE Championship’s mission to unite billions of people around the world through martial arts.

“We’re spreading martial arts to the whole world, so it’s cool to be a part of that. And no matter where you’re from, what religion or background you have, we all have this similarity of loving martial arts, and we’re all able to appreciate it and enjoy it together.”

Mikey Musumeci will make the second defense of his ONE flyweight submission grappling world title against IBJJF No Gi world champion Osamah Almarwai at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs Moraes III on Prime Video.
