At ONE Fight Night 10, Mikey Musumeci stepped inside the Circle to defend his flyweight submission grappling world championship against Osamah Almarwai.
With the card being one of the biggest nights in the history of ONE Championship, some of the biggest names on the roster showed up at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado for ONE’s on-ground US debut.
Representing ONE Championship’s growing submission grappling roster, Musumeci put on a show for the fans in one of the night’s three world championship battles.
Submission grappling has continued to steadily grow at the Singapore-based organization thanks to the world-class additions and a plethora of interesting matchups on the promotion’s monthly fight bills.

But while fans in Colorado watched with excitement as Demetrious Johnson, Rodtang, Jackie Buntan, and Zebaztian Kadestam, earned some statement wins on the landmark bill, Mikey Musumeci wasn’t too sure what to make of his battle as he made his way to the Circle.
However, the fans inside the sold-out venue clearly showed their love for submission grappling, giving Mikey Musumeci and Almarwai a warm reception throughout their battle.
In an interview with the Jiu-Jitsu Times, the divisional king spoke about his contest at ONE Fight Night 10 and how he reacted to the response from the fans:
“The energy was insane. They were giving out so many good vibes. It was the same energy they gave to the Muay Thai and MMA fights – like, they were that into the jiu-jitsu match. So, we did it!”
