ONE flyweight submission grappling champion Mikey Musumeci is welcoming any and all challengers to his belt following his first title defense at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.
The four-time IBJJF world champion took out Gantumur Bayanduuren by way of unanimous decision, earning his third victory inside the circle in as many tries.
'Darth Rigatoni' is proving to be one of the very best grapplers on the planet. Next, he told SCMP MMA that he's willing to face any opponent:
"I don’t really pay attention to the opponent, just focusing on myself. It doesn’t really matter who’s there. I didn’t really care who they put in front of me."

Mikey Musumeci says there was "no point" in Gantumur Bayanduuren not tapping
Mongolia's Gantumur Bayanduuren displayed other-worldly toughness in his loss to Musumeci, refusing to tap despite tearing three ligaments in his knee. However, the champ doesn't see a point in not tapping.
He told reporters post-fight:
“Yeah, I just think it was just no point, he lost anyway. For example, you're winning a match in IBJJF, where there are points and you're in a submission. You tap it out, you might pop your foot or something but you win the match. But if you're completely losing a match, and you're in full-lock submission, just not tapping, you're just going to injure yourself.”
If Musumeci and Bayanduuren were to meet in the circle again, the champ said he wouldn't be taking any chances. He told ONE:
"I'll just put him to sleep. I looked at my corner. I heard them say two minutes. And then I just let go of the submission. And I took him. I almost calf-sliced him, I think. And then I took his back. And I should have just done that from the beginning. I could have definitely just put him to sleep."
