Miles Johns wasn't told by the UFC why James Krause was banned from cornering him at UFC Vegas 65

During his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 215, Miles Johns revealed that his coach James Krause was prevented from cornering him on 19th November.

While speaking to Bisping, Johns said that the UFC banned Krause from cornering him one day before the fight.

In the post-fight press conference, the first question that was fired 'Chapo's way was about his coach. Johns said that he wasn't aware of the reasoning behind the UFC's decision, but it definitely served as an obstacle coming into his fight at UFC Vegas 65.

"I'm not really sure of the details of what really happened. They just called him last night and said that he was unable to corner me today. So, I'm sure you guys will be finding out what's going on as soon enough as I... For me, I wasn't worried about the details in that moment. It's just kind of a rug pulled out from under your feet at the pre-fight night dinner, you know. So yeah, there was a little bit of adversity with that but we're here now, we got the dub. It's all good," said Miles Johns.

At UFC Fight Night 215, 'Chapo' bounced back from his loss to John Castaneda. The 28-year-old took on Vince Morales in a bantamweight scrap. The fight went the full 15-minute distance and Johns scored the victory via unanimous decision. The three judges scroed the contest 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 in favor of 'Chapo'.

James Krause used to compete in the UFC

Before fully transitioning to MMA coaching, James Krause used to compete as a fighter in the UFC.

During his stint in the multi-billion dollar promotion, Krause competed in the lightweight, welterweight and middleweight division. The 36-year-old made 13 octagon appearances and emerged victorious in nine of them.

'The James Krause' competed against the likes of Bobby Green, Jorge Masvidal, Trevin Giles and Warlley Alves during his run in the promotion.

Krause was last seen in action in October 2020 when he took on Claudio Silva in a welterweight showdown. The Virginia native earned a unanimous decision victory and later announced his retirement from the sport.

James Krause was recently part of a controversy that took place at UFC Vegas 64.

Coached by Krause, Darrick Minner took on Shayilan Nuerdanbieke that night. Moments before the fight, the betting odds changed drastically in favor of Nuerdanbieke as he moved from a -220 to a -420 favorite.

Minner then suffered a leg injury early in the fight and lost the contest via TKO.

The unraveling of the fight along with the sudden movement in the betting line raised many eyebrows. Thus, an investigation was also launched to look into the matter.
