The doctor mentioned above is renowned MMA surgeon Dr. David Abbasi who recently took to X and broke down Johnson's horrific elbow injury. He said:
''He [The Rock] posted this picture or video of his swelling of his elbow. We know Mark Kerr used to rain down those elbows and this fluid right here is likely a result of blood sitting below the skin. There is a bursa on the end of the tip of the elbow called the olecranon. So it's called olecranon bursa and traumatic injuries or continued repetitive blows can cause bleeding in that area.''
Abbasi continued:
''So we called a hemorrhagic bursa, so this would be called olecranon bursitis and the cause of this one would be traumaor blood. It can also occur in situations where you don't have trauma where you just get imflammation. It can sometimes get infected. We call that an infected olecranon bursa, so thta sometimes will require surgery or IV antibiotics, but this should get better with rest and icing.''

Dwayne Johnson gives update on his recent elbow injury
Dwayne Johnson suffered a scary elbow injury while filming his upcoming movie, 'The Smashing Machine' based on the life of UFC legend Mark Kerr.
Johnson recently took to social media and gave an update on his injury, saying:
''The pain feels pretty good, but all good. It is what it is until it isn’t. I remember my old man used to say, god rest his soul, ‘The Soulman’ — he was an old-school pro wrestler, old-school bodybuilder — he always used to say, ‘A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy’.''
