MMA journalist Donagh Corby believes Conor McGregor's potential boxing bout against Logan Paul could help him save his public image.
Earlier this month, news broke that McGregor was reportedly in talks with Paul about an exhibition boxing bout next summer in India. The contest is believed to have the backing of Mukesh Ambani, who is the richest person in Asia and the ninth richest person in the world, according to Forbes.
While no details have been confirmed about the fight, including a date or venue, the potential figures have started circulating this week. The rumors suggest that both McGregor and Paul could stand to earn $250 million each for the contest.

While some fans are disappointed at the news, as many have been hoping to see the Irishman return to the octagon, Donagh Corby believes it could infact be a stroke of genius.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Craic, Corby stated that the fight could be as big as Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and help with McGregor's public image. He explained:
"It's massive, Logan Paul is more famous than Jake, any metric you look at he's got more followers...If there's a way to make Conor McGregor a babyface again, if there's a way for him to turn it around, it's to have him fight Logan Paul. [He's] one of the only less pallitable people to the general public [than McGregor]...It's also a super winnable fight for Conor. It's absolutely huge...If they make it happen, it will be as big as Jake and Mike Tyson."

Chael Sonnen is doubtful whether Conor McGregor will fight in the UFC again
Despite Conor McGregor not yet stating that he is retired from the octagon, Chael Sonnen ufc-insider-issues-hot-take-conor-mcgregor-clinging-ufc-spotlight-warns-fans-avoid-dumb-dumb-narratives-irishman-s-return" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">doesn't believe fans will ever see the Irishman step back in the cage again.
Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, 'The American Gangster' offered his take on McGregor's fighting future. According to Sonnen, just because 'The Notorious' hasn't confirmed his retirement doesn't mean he's still planning on returning to the UFC. He explained:
"If Conor is not going to fight again, which it is very apparent he's not going to. But that's not the way this game is played...As long as you have not used the word retired, you seem to be eligible amongst our community for different debates and discussions and hypothetical match-ups, which is very good for you [McGregor]."
He continued:
"When you have people in MMA telling you Conor's going to fight again, you've got to store that away as a dumb dumb...I'm just not convinced that he understands that he's done."
