Fans and fellow fighters gave mixed reactions to Molly McCann's gritty performance against Bruna Brasil at UFC 304. McCann lost to Brasil by unanimous decision and appeared to be outworked in the striking and grappling departments. However, she survived an early scare and made the fight competitive in later rounds.

McCann started the fight as an aggressor but found little success against Brasil's calculated attacks. Brasil had the most success in the first round and knocked McCann down with vicious body kicks. To her credit, McCann remained unfazed and continued to fight even after a groin strike. Brasil appeared to be a few combinations away from a finish but McCann held her own in the second and third rounds.

While Brasil cruised to a comfortable unanimous decision victory, fellow UFC fighters and journalists praised McCann for staying in the contest.

McCann is one of the biggest fan-favorite fighters from the UK. She became popular in the UFC with her devastating KO wins over Luana Carolina and Hannah Goldy in the women's flyweight division. However, McCann has lost three of her last four fights.

Following back-to-back submission defeats in the women's flyweight division, the British fighter moved down to strawweight. She got back in the win column with a second-round submission victory over Diana Belbita in February. However, the loss to Brasil has temporarily halted her march in the division.

Meanwhile, the win was crucial for 'Dana White's Contender Series' standout Brasil, as she was 1-2 in her UFC career before the McCann fight. Her last fight beore UFC 304 ended in a unanimous decision loss to Loma Lookboonmee.
