Erin Blanchfield also stands at a similar 5 feet 4 inches and also weighs 125 lbs. The American, however, holds a four-inch reach advantage over McCann at 66 inches. Much like her opponent, the 23-year-old also fights orthodox.
Since making her promotional debut in September 2021, Blanchfield has maintained a spotless record in the UFC with three wins. She is currently on a six-fight win streak and holds a pro record of nine wins against one loss.
In her last octagon outing at UFC Fight Night 207, she triumphed over J.J. Aldrich via second-round submission.
Erin Blanchfield confident that Molly McCann hasn't fought anyone with her grappling prowess
In a recent interview with James Lynch, the No.12-ranked UFC women's flyweight Erin Blackfield stated that even though Molly McCann is very aggressive on the feet, she hasn't faced a high-level grappler like herself.
The 23-year-old added that she was also confident that she could deal with the Brit's high-pressure fighting style:
"She's definitely more of a brawler. She's super aggressive, I think she kind of overwhelms girls sometimes with her aggression, but I'm used to that and I know how to deal with that. So stylistically it's a great fight for me... I'll be a little bit faster and will be able to catch a submission quicker, like in the ground transitions. I don't think she has grappled with someone like as technical and athletic I guess, on the ground as me."
