ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai can sense that his upcoming defense of the crown against 155-pound kickboxing king Superbon at ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, will be even more scintillating than their December 2023 world title fight.

Ahead of their potential five-round war inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, Tawanchai spoke with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin, who asked for his thoughts on the rematch. He nonchalantly replied:

"Maybe I'm not as excited as you are, but I'm very sure that this fight will be more entertaining than the last fight."

Fans of the striking arts highly rated their first meeting due to the non-stop action both Thai megastars provided, which Tawanchai won via majority decision.

With Superbon eager to join an exclusive club of ONE athletes to become two-sport world champions, Tawanchai cannot afford to make any mistake inside the circle — no matter how minor they may be.

When asked how he plans to spoil Superbon's grand plans, Tawanchai hesitated to call for a knockout, saying:

"I think it's hard to say. We know each other's styles already, so it's all up to the date."

Superbon expected to have a rematch with Tawanchai

Because of how narrowly Tawanchai avoided surrendering the 155-pound Muay Thai crown to Superbon in their first battle, the latter believed they were always bound to cross paths again.

The founder of Superbon Training Camp told ONE:

"I was quite confident there'd be a rematch because the fighters in the same rank and level and Tawanchai and I are rare. There are a few other ones like Jo and the others, I think I can defeat those in lower ranks."
