Fans criticized Anthony Joshua following his recent defeat against IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. Joshua challenged Dubois for the title on Sept. 21 at Wembley Stadium in London. While Joshua was the more experienced boxer and a betting favorite, Dubois outclassed him to earn a fifth-round KO win.
The fight was competitive initially but Dubois knocked Joshua down with an overhand right in the closing seconds of Round 1. This changed the complexion of the bout as Joshua seemingly struggled to recover from the knockdown and was dropped three times heading into Round 5.
That said, the former two-time champion hurt Dubois and chased a finish with reckless abandon in the fifth round. Unfortunately for Joshua, Dubois' counter shot sent him crashing down to the canvas and he could not answer the 10-count.

Fans took to social media and shared their thoughts on Joshua's KO defeat.
With the win, Dubois registered the first defense of his title since being promoted to full champion in June. He had won the interim IBF heavyweight title with a TKO (doctor's stoppage) win over Filip Hrgovic earlier that month.
Meanwhile, it was the fourth loss of Joshua's professional boxing career. He previously lost to Andy Ruiz and Oleksandr Usyk (twice) but has never tasted defeat in a non-title fight. Although some fans and fellow fighters seem to think retirement is the best course of action, Joshua is looking to bounce back from the loss.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference, 'AJ' said:
"Of course, I wanna continue fighting. We took a shot at success and came up short. And what does that mean now? We're gonna run away? We're gonna live to fight another day. And that's what I am, I'm a warrior."
