Mackenzie Dern's submission loss to Ffion Davies at Craig Jones' CJI has garnered attention from fans worldwide. Many fans took a dig at Dern following her loss.

Dern, a former ADCC and BJJ world champion, returned to competitive grappling against Davies at the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational. The event was held this past weekend at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC women’s strawweight contender's last grappling match took place in 2016, when she defeated Michelle Nicolini at the IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Originally slated to participate at this year's ADCC, Davies, who is also an ADCC champion, left the competition to join the CJI for her fight against Dern. In her last grappling bout at ADXC 4, the Welsh fighter faced Morgan Black, winning the match via armbar submission in the first round.

In their grappling match, Davies dominated Dern from the start. The former began the second round with the same intensity, applying a reverse triangle armbar that forced Dern to tap.
