Lito Adiwang believes Rodtang could be stronger at bantamweight.

In September 2023, Rodtang competed in one of the greatest fights in ONE Championship history - a Muay Thai bout against Superlek Kiatmoo9. 'The Iron Man' came up short in the three-round war, losing by unanimous decision and maintaining his ONE flyweight world title due to Superlek missing weight.

Since then, the inevitable rematch between Superlek and Rodtang was pushed back, as 'The Kicking Machine' sought two-sport supremacy. Superlek's latest world title win against Jonathan Haggerty took place at bantamweight, raising questions about whether his second fight against Rodtang would be at flyweight.

During an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, ONE strawweight MMA contender Lito Adiwang was asked about Superlek moving up to bantamweight. Adiwang had this to say about Rodtang potentially also deciding to change weight classes:

"I back this idea up because I personally saw him when he fought Superlek. I think they both failed their first attempts at weight and hydration. I saw that he was a bit withered. So I think moving up could help him be stronger."

Adiwang is often asked about various ONE Championship topics, as he's been around the promotion for many years. Since his debut in October 2018, the Filipino superstar has established a record of 10-3, including an ongoing three-fight win streak in the strawweight MMA division.

Rodtang has business to take care of before potential super-fights

Fans have called for two must-see fights featuring Rodtang - a Muay Thai rematch against Superlek and a kickboxing bout against Takeru Segawa. Before those potential matchups, 'The Iron Man' is scheduled to defend his flyweight Muay Thai world title next month.

On Nov. 8, ONE Championship will return to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for ONE 169. In the co-main event, Rodtang will face Jacob Smith in a rematch.

The Thai megastar and Smith first fought in May 2022 when the latter made his promotional debut. Smith endured a brutal learning experience that night, as Rodtang battered him for three rounds before securing a unanimous decision.

The British challenger now seeks revenge in Thailand.

ONE 169 can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
