Muay Thai legend Nong-O drops down to flyweight to face fellow Thai Kongthoranee at ONE Fight Night 28

The next chapter of Nong-O Hama's legendary career will take place at flyweight, beginning at ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs Barboza on Prime Video.

On Feb. 8, live in US Primetime, the former bantamweight Muay Thai kingpin will face no.4 ranked Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in a three-round battle inside the hallowed grounds of 'The Mecca of Muay Thai' Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Nong-O will indeed go down as one of the best Muay Thai fighters of all time once it's all said and done.

The 38-year-old striking icon mesmerized the global audience with his 10-0 start in the home of martial arts, an incredible run that also included seven successful world title defenses of his bantamweight Muay Thai crown.

However, Nong-O has hit a rough patch since losing his belt to Jonathan Haggerty in 2023. The Evolve MMA affiliate has gone 1-3 in his last four bouts, prompting a change of scenery at a lower weight class.

His entry to the stacked 135-pound Muay Thai division, however, won't be a walk in the park since he'll take on a fellow Thai who has gone 10-2 in ONE.

After seeing his streak get snapped by two-sport kingpin Superlek Kiatmoo9, Kongthoranee rebounded magnificently with back-to-back surgical victories over Tagir Khalilov and Nakrob Fairtex.

The former three-time Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion's technical striking and high fight IQ will indeed make him a formidable challenge for the mighty Nong-O.
