Muhammad Ali’s grandson, Biaggio Ali Walsh, advanced his amateur MMA record to 3-1.

On April 7, Ali Walsh stepped into the PFL SmartCage for the second time to continue his MMA journey. The lightweight prospect was matched up against Isaiah Figueroa, a 22–year-old with a previous amateur record of 1-1. The grandson of the boxing legend made another statement by showcasing composure and securing a first-round standing TKO.

Ali Walsh played Division 1 college football as a running back for the University of California and UNLV. He decided to fully commit to MMA by training at Xtreme Couture, making his amateur debut in June 2022. Things didn’t go as planned for the lightweight prospect, leading to a second-round submission loss.

Two months later, the former college football player bounced back with a first-round finish. Ali Walsh caught the attention of the PFL and made his promotional debut in November 2022, winning by another first-round knockout. Now that he’s established himself as a legitimate prospect, the 24-year-old plans to stay active and take his time before turning pro.

Biaggio Ali Walsh responds to Jake Paul’s callout by telling him to fight somebody his own size

Jake Paul recently signed with the Professional Fighters League to make his professional MMA debut in late 2023 or early 2024. The YouTuber-turned-boxer appeared on the PFL 2 broadcast and was interested in Biaggio Ali Walsh’s performance.

Paul decided to call out Ali Walsh for an MMA fight and his brother Nico Ali Walsh for a boxing match. Biaggio responded during his post-fight press conference:

“Nico [Ali Walsh] fights at 162, I fight at 155. I have no problem with Jake Paul, but he should fight someone his own size. I don’t know why he’s trying to fight people smaller than him. He fought at 185 cruiserweight in boxing, fight at 185 in MMA… He’s a lot bigger than me. I don’t know why he’s trying to fight somebody smaller than him. Fight somebody your own size, I don’t understand.”

Paul announced on the broadcast that he’s been training in jiu-jitsu and wrestling for his MMA debut. ‘The Problem Child’ will be fighting under the PFL banner, but it’s unclear what weight class he plans to compete in. The YouTuber-turned-boxer is still searching for a worthy opponent after Ali Walsh turned down his offer.
