American MMA fighter Jarred Brooks is currently competing in the strawweight lane in ONE Championship but said he has his sights set on bigger conquests moving forward.
The former ONE strawweight MMA world champion made this known in an interview with the promotion ahead of his scheduled match for the interim strawweight belt at ONE Fight Night 24 on Prime Video on Aug. 2 in Thailand.
He will go up against veteran Cuban fighter Gustavo Balart in the headlining contest of the event happening at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and airing live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
In the interview with ONE, Jarred Brooks opened up about his plans moving forward, especially coming off a tough loss last time around against Filipino rival Joshua Pacio, where he also lost the strawweight belt.

He said:
"And you know, Pacio has his motivations, I have my motivations, but I do think that they're bigger. And I think that my aspirations are bigger than any fighter in ONE Championship, and I think that a lot of people just don't see that and it will come out. The truth always comes out, bro. My aspirations are way, way higher than any strawweight, flyweight, you know?"
Jarred Brooks lost the strawweight gold to Pacio back in March in Qatar by disqualification for executing an illegal slam that saw Pacio hit the canvas head first.
He is now looking to claim the interim belt and set up unification bout against Pacio at some point and return as the undisputed champion in the strawweight division.

Jarred Brooks heads into his scheduled title match at ONE Fight Night 24 on Prime Video on Aug. 2 in Thailand all in on what he has to do to get a victory.
'The Monkey God' is looking for a bounce-back win in his return to action this week after losing the ONE strawweight belt in his last fight in March to Joshua Pacio by disqualification.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA, Brooks mentioned his frame of mind heading into ONE Fight Night 24, saying:
"I have nothing to lose. I have nothing to worry about heading into this fight. I just want to go out there and put on a how and I want to be a statement to the people in America as well, that you can do anything in the world."
ONE Championship is having an interim strawweight title match as reigning champion Pacio is out indefinitely for the ACL injury he sustained even before he fought Brooks.
