Eric Nicksick recently addressed Ilia Topuria lashing out at Cristiano Ronaldo for picking Mac Holloway to beat him before their showdown at UFC 308 last October. The veteran coach apologized to Topuria and pointed out that he simply "leaned" toward Holloway.
For context, Ronaldo and Nicksick were discussing the Topuria-Holloway fight with Francis Ngannou during a meet-up when the Xtreme Couture frontman stated that he backed 'Blessed' to beat the Georgian-Spanish fighter. Ronaldo agreed with Nicksick and pointed out that Holloway hadn't been knocked out before.
At UFC 308, Topuria secured a spectacular KO victory over Holloway. However, he wasn't going to let Ronaldo get away with picking his opponent over him and slammed the football legend in interviews and on social media.

During a recent episode of the Verse Us podcast, Nicksick addressed Topuria losing his cool on Ronaldo due to his comments and backed down on his former prediction. He said:
"Ilia, I'm sorry that I picked Max in front of Ronaldo. Poor Ronaldo's taking heat from Ilia. That was my fault, my bad, bro... I leaned toward Max... Sorry, bro."
