"My country is f****d" - MMA fans react to Khamzat Chimaev's Donald Trump call out to Dricus du Plessis 

Khamzat Chimaev has caused much excitement amongst fans after his recent Donald Trump-themed callout of Dricus du Plessis. The South African is the title-holder at 185 pounds, with Chimaev firmly fixed on dethroning the current middleweight king.

'Borz' most recently competed against Robert Whittaker at UFC 308, viewed by many as the Chechen's toughest test to date. But the 30-year-old left fans and pundits stunned as he submitted the former champion in Round 1.

Prior to Chimaev's fight with Whittaker, Sean Strickland was assumed to be the man set to face Du Plessis next. But the domination displayed by middleweight contender has seen calls for a fight between 'Stillknocks' and Chimaev to be made.

His recent online activity will only bolster those calls, as the undefeated fighter took to X and posted:

While most fans were fixed on a potential middleweight title clash between Du Plessis and 'Borz', one fan noted Chimaev's use of a Donald Trump photograph, and wrote:

"Damn even Chimaev knows my country is f**ked."

Dricus du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev is Jon Anik's "dream matchup" right now

Khamzat Chimaev's sensational submission win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 left little doubt about his true title potential.

With Sean Strickland waiting in the wings for his hopeful rematch against Dricus du Plessis, rumored to take place at UFC 312, the injection of the Chechen into title talks has complicated matters for 'Tarzan'.

For UFC play-by-play commentator Jon Anik, however, the situation could not be more simple.

During a recent interview with Odds Shark Sports, Anik was asked to share his dream matchup in the UFC right now, and said:

"I mean, my dream matchup right now is Khamzat Chimaev vs. Dricus du Plessis. I'm not sure that we can put together a more interesting championship matchup right now. With respect to Sean Strickland, who is a deserving number one contender and former champion, I think Chimaev really upset the apple cart with what he did against Robert Whittaker. That's the fight that I would like to see."
