Since his arrival in ONE Championship, Jarred Brooks has not been shy about what he wants to achieve in his career.

'The Monkey God' has already achieved great success in the strawweight MMA division where he is the former world champion.

He now looks to reclaim a piece of the title when fighting for interim gold on his return at ONE Fight Night 24.

Alongside his campaign at this weight class, there has always been one ultimate goal for Brooks and that's to face one of the greatest of all time who competes at the weight above.

ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson has already cemented himself into the MMA history books but Brooks hopes that he will get to be a chapter in Johnson's legacy.

He spoke in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA where he once again put his intentions out there, claiming that it would be an honor to compete against "Mighty Mouse":

"Yeah. If whoever wants to lay this to Demetrious, I wanna tell him, 'Man, I have a dream in my life. And I'm sure you had a dream in your life one time. But my dream is to go against the best of all time - you. And if I can beat you I can. If not, I will be proud to say that I was humbled by the best there ever was.'"

Jarred Brooks has big plans in mind

Despite losing his world championship in shocking circumstances at ONE 166 earlier this year, Jarred Brooks hasn't lost his focus.

He still believes that he is the best strawweight in the world and will look to keep proving this when he takes on Gustavo Balart in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24.

The interim title will be on the line at Lumpinee Stadium on August 2 as Brooks looks to take a big step towards reclaiming his spot at the top of the division.

The entire event will air live and free in US Primetime via Prime Video for active subscribers in North America.
