Second-ranked ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai contender 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo of Scotland was originally scheduled to face two-division, two-sport king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 this weekend.
However, an injury to the Thai icon forced Superlek out of the matchup, and instead, Carrillo has been matched up with No.5-ranked contender Nabil Anane.
The two will now square off for the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title in Superlek's absence.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated in a recent interview, Carrillo said he was laser focused on the task at hand, and that's beating Anane and taking home the gold.

'King of the North' said:
"[The title unification fight is] not on my mind at all. I am an all eggs in one basket kind of guy, and my full focus is on Nabil. Honestly, I’ve not even thought about anything else at all. I’m getting married this year, I’ve not even thought about it. I’ve got so much things to do for my wedding, I’ve not even thought about any of it. I’ll probably be stressed out when that day comes to sort that stuff out, but I’m just so focused on this fight."
The winner will set up a unification bout against Superlek sometime later this year.
