Khalil Rountree Jr. is gearing up to face Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title at UFC 307 in a little over a week from now. Ahead of the scrap, Rountree shared a training montage on his Instagram page. The clip also featured 'God Put a Smile Upon Your Face' by Coldplay.
Given that this will be Rountree's first-ever crack at an undisputed title in the UFC, he will almost certainly be training harder than he ever has. Naturally, his post drew the attention of fans, who flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts.

One fan referenced the caption that Rountree chose for the post, which referred to his training as a 'church' he frequents.
"My kind of Church. All spirituality. No preacher."
Others hailed him as a future champion, showing confidence in his chances against Pereira.
"Future champ"
"That's the LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP!!!!!!!!!!"
The aggregate fan belief in Rountree's ability to score an upset at UFC 307 was prevalent in his post's comment section.
"AND NEW!"
A collage of fan reactions can be seen below:
Rountree's upcoming title fight with Pereira is one of the few to feature such a ranking disparity between the champion and challenger. While 'Poatan' is the reigning titleholder, Rountree steps in as the #8 ranked fighter in the division.
This huge difference was last seen when the then #10 Steve Erceg faced Alexandre Pantoja in May this year. They clashed over the UFC flyweight title, with Pantoja successfully defending the belt in a hard-fought victory.
Khalil Rountree's training is different from Alex Pereira
UFC 307 takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is at high elevation. While Alex Pereira is currently there training at elevation, Khalil Rountree has opted against acclimating himself to the demands of high elevation. The move has rarely gone well for fighters scheduled for bouts in such environments.
Check out Alex Pereira's training footage:
Cain Velasquez famously gassed out a UFC 188 against Fabricio Werdum in Mexico City, which was also at high elevation. To further add to Rountree's disadvantages, this won't be Pereira's first stint at elevation.
