You can't believe for an instant that Kana Morimoto has signed with ONE Championship with the goal of being anything less than the top fighter in her weight class.

The Japanese kickboxer is hoping to take over the atomweight kickboxing division during her eagerly anticipated run in the promotion.

Having achieved great success in K-1, 'KANA' is ready to test herself against the best that ONE has to offer. Of course, the atomweight kickboxing world champion Phetjeeja makes for a dream clash between two of the best in the world.

Morimoto has also expressed interest in crossing paths with Anissa Meksen in the near future, which would be another top-caliber clash.

In a recent interview with the South China Morning Post following the confirmation of her signing, she spoke about her goals in her new home and how, in her opinion, this is the best place for her to test herself against the best:

"My ultimate goal in ONE is to become a champion. I think ONE's atomweight division is the best in the world, and I want to compete in the upper ranks there."

There's a lot of exciting matchups for Kana Morimoto

Of course, the fans are excited to see a world-class competitor like Kana Morimoto join the ranks after what she has accomplished elsewhere.

However, the excitement isn't just to see what she is able to do under the ONE banner, it's to see the clashes with the likes of Phetjeeja and Meksen that, up until now, were only hypothetical.

She's surely going to want to make an immediate impact at the top of the division, meaning that these fights against the best that the weight class has to offer aren't far away.

You can expect to see the Japanese striker in the mix in the very near future.
